The City Dock Improvements project consists of demolition of the existing dock; removal of underwater debris; construction of a new longer and wider dock consisting of new pilings, floats, low-freeboard float, pump-out stations, lighting, power, water, and sewer extensions; fire-fighting system, and a launch ramp extension.

Construction Budget:
The total approved budget for the project is $2,067,000 ($1,096,961 grant-funded) with $1,925,519 available for construction after design and permitting. The engineer's estimate for construction after all design reviews and permitting is $2,027,893.

In order to create options for budget flexibility, the City intends to bid the contract with optional construction items such as high-mast lighting ($32,000 est.), a low-freeboard float ($76,000 est.), and a short mooring pier ($92,000 est.).

Bids were solicited through the local newspapers and the bid opening was held on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The apparent low responsive bidder is Redside Construction, LLC, in the bid amount of $2,033,771.05. City staff recommend moving forward with the alternative bids; therefore, a budget amendment of $300,000 is needed to cover alternatives and construction contingencies. Staff has reviewed the bid documentation and contractor's qualifications and recommends that the City Council award this contract to Redside Construction, LLC, in the amount of $2,033,771.05.
