| | | | | | | | DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND |
This 2017 CIP project includes resurfacing Wardwell Road, stormwater conveyance and water quality improvements, and a new fish passage culvert for Wardwell Creek.
Bids were solicited through area newspapers, the Daily Journal of Commerce, and the City’s bids and awards webpage and listserv.
The bid opening was held on August 9, 2017, and the apparent low bidder is Sound Pacific Construction in the bid amount of $749,000. The CIP budget for the project was $755,000 with the remaining funds available after expenses (design modifications, permitting, and ROW acquisition) of $720,474. In order to award the contract for the low bid amount a budget amendment will be required.
Staff has reviewed the bid documentation and the contractor’s qualifications and recommends that the City Council award this contract to the apparent low bidder.
