The Community Forest Management Plan (CFMP) was completed in 2006. The CFMP describes existing conditions of trees and forests on Bainbridge Island, ecosystem services provided by trees and forests, and promotes sustainable forest conditions with recommendations for new programs, public outreach and education, incentives, and regulations.
Some of those recommendations have been implemented. The Council Tree and Low Impact Development Ad Hoc Committee has recommended that the CFMP be adopted by the Council to encourage further implementation of the CFMP recommendations.
The Council formally accepted the CFMP by approving Resolution 2006-07 on February 8, 2006.
