DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

Staff and a consultant retained by the City (Carollo Engineers, Inc.) have completed the necessary revisions to the City Water System Plan (WSP) as required by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) in order to obtain DOH approval of the plan.

The attached review comments were received from DOH. Key requirements dictated by DOH include:

10-year WSP Approval
WSP adopting resolution
Water Use Efficiency (WUE) goal setting
Updated wellhead protection program
Updated demand projections and system analysis

As part of the August 22, 2017, Council meeting, and prior to approval of the Water System Plan, City staff will conduct goal setting regarding the current Water Use Efficiency (WUE) Program with the Council and the public, as well as provide responses to DOH's review comments.
