DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

Action Item:

Consider renewal of the City's contract with Bremerton Kitsap Access Television.

Background:

The City currently contracts with Bremerton Kitsap Access Television (BKAT) for governmental access television services such as video production and program scheduling related to City of Bainbridge Island activities. BKAT posts the City Council meeting and study session agendas on the BKAT reader board, video records the City Council meetings and other meetings as requested, and broadcasts meetings live and rebroadcasts the meetings at scheduled times.

The current contract runs through the end of 2017. The City is paying $32,000 for this year. To facilitate planning for both organizations, a five-year contract renewal is proposed.

The annual contract begins at $33,000 for 2018 with an automatic annual increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION

I move that the City Council forward to the October 10, 2017, Consent Agenda the contract between the City of Bainbridge Island and Bremerton Kitsap Access Television.
