DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

At the City Council Study Session on March 6, 2017, the Council received an update on initial cost estimates for two potential sites for the Police/Municipal Court project. One site is a vacant lot on Yaquina Avenue and the second site includes an existing building on N. Madison Avenue (Harrison medical facility).

 

The next step in the project will be to select a site. As part of the Council discussion on March 6, the Council requested this item be placed on the March 13 Business Meeting agenda for discussion, to receive public comment, and to consider action.  At the conclusion of the March 13 discussion, the Council requested time to continue this topic to the March 20 Study Session.

 



RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION

I move to direct staff to proceed forward with (the Harrison existing building on N. Madison or the Yaquina Avenue parcel) as the preferred site for the Police and Municipal Court project, to undertake next steps to pursue site acquisition, and to conduct additional evaluation of project feasibility and cost estimates for that site.
