DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

Construction funding for the Sportsman Club Road and New Brooklyn Road Intersection Improvements project (roundabout) was included on the KRCC contingency list for grant funding in the 2016 grant cycle. KRCC was recently notified by PSRC that additional funding is available that can be applied to projects on the contingency list.  

 

The City requested $702,945 for the grant-funded portion of estimated construction costs. The additional KRCC funding that could be applied to our project is $679,840. Since this is less than requested in the grant application, it requires Council approval to accept.

 

By accepting this lesser amount of funding, the City can proceed with completing this project in 2020, and submit other projects for 2021-22 funding in the upcoming grant cycle. The projects the City intends to submit for KRCC funding in the next cycle are:

 

- Madison Ave. Sidewalk Improvements design and construction.

- Core 40 Eagle Harbor Drive Phase 2 design and construction.

- Core 40 Bucklin Hill Road, Phase 2 design and right-of-way acquisition.

 

 

 

 

 

 



RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION

I move to approve Resolution No. 2018-11 accepting grant funding in the amount of $679,840 for construction of the Sportsman Club Road/New Brooklyn Road Intersection Improvements Project.
