DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

The proposed Sportsman Club Road / New Brooklyn Road Intersection Improvements project will relieve current congestion and ensure mobility for the town center by constructing a roundabout, sidewalks, and bike lanes at the intersection. Preliminary engineering work will include community involvement, physical survey work, permitting, and associated storm water mitigation. A subsequent final design phase will occur after Council approval of initial design.

The City solicited Requests for Qualifications through area newspapers, including the Daily Journal of Commerce, and the City's bid posting webpage.

Staff reviewed the qualifications of multiple firms and Skillings Connolly, Inc., was selected as the most qualified consultant to prepare the preliminary design in the amount of $49,157.73.

RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION

I move to forward to the May 8, 2018, Consent Agenda for approval the Sportsman Club / New Brooklyn Intersection Improvements Professional Services Agreement, and to thereby authorize the City Manager to execute the documents necessary to effectuate that agreement.
