At the City Council Study Session on March 6, 2017, the Council received an update on initial cost estimates for two potential sites for the Police/Municipal Court project. One site was a lot on Yaquina Avenue and the second site involved an existing building on N. Madison Avenue (Harrison medical facility).
Council discussion continued at their meetings on March 13 and April 10 including reconsideration of the parcel on New Brooklyn Road that had been considered previously.
At the April 10th meeting Council directed Staff to proceed forward with the Harrison existing building on N. Madison and the parcel on New Brooklyn located next to the Fire Station as the preferred sites for the Police and Municipal Court project, to undertake next steps in pursuit of site acquisition for both sites, to conduct additional evaluation of project feasibility and cost estimates for the Harrison site, and to report on these activities and this information back to Council prior to committing the City to moving forward with either of the sites.
The attached professional services contract amendment includes the next steps required for additional evaluation of the Harrison medical facility site.
